Rhino Rally 2026

Wade said: Let us ride as fast as Travis, as smart as Merril, as fearless as Dillan, as talented as Darryl, as sexy as Shawn, and as happy as Ryan. Darryl added: as creatively as Wade and as humble as Ammon. Who knew Wade was such a poet? I didn't take any pictures of Merril riding. I got a picture of Mark next to Duke after their race.

Mark completed 3 laps and placed 4th in his division. His division take in kids up to 16 years old so he's small for his but he did great!

Merril was in this group somewhere. He raced and then drove up to Brianhead to sing with Maxine. He was pretty tired by the end of the day. Merril placed 15th in his division.

Sneaky Brianhead Trip

This year has been the worst for snow. Southern Utah finally got some snow in February.

Merril finally got a chance to snowbike and later we went to Brianhead. We ate some food.

Maxine and Mark snowboarded and I wanted to sit next to a fireplace. It was lovely to read my book next to the fire. I had to bring my readers. Merril and Mikayla soaked up the fire at the hotel lobby. It was perfect for me and Maxine said the snow was peak!

Birthday Dinner

I'm 46 this year. Merril will turn 48 and it's crazy how close we are to turning 50. Life with this guy has been so good. Merril took me to dinner at the restaurant inside Black Desert Resort, Basalt. It was fancy and we decided to get two desserts.

We didn't realize they were going to bring us a standard birthday dessert.

Seems excessive. We ate them all and it was amazing!

Shivwits Arch Hike in the Gorge

Have you seen that arch in the gorge? I must be the only one because no one knew what I was talking about. I saw a hiking group was going on the adventure but couldn't attend. I conned the family into a birthday adventure with me. You can barely see it! It begins at mile marker 23 in the gorge.

It doesn't really have a trail. It's more of a 1,000-foot scramble.

We couldn't even decide if we could get all of us up to the top. It felt sketchy.

Some of us weren't so sure but we all ended up at the top.

On top of the arch looks narrow but it's about 10 feet wide. I wasn't worried about anyone falling off.

We took an alternate route down. Again, just a 1,000-foot non-trail to the bottom.

We got done and went to dinner at George's Restaurant. I found a bug on Maxine and I thought it was a spider. Later, I was washing my hair and found the same type of bug. IT WAS A TICK! I made everyone do tick checks. I asked my hiking group about it and they said that some people came back from the hike with ticks. I had no idea we had them in southern Utah. No one had any attached so we're good.

Elders' Campbell

Jack's new greenie companion is named Elder Campbell. So Elder Campbell and Elder Campbell are companions. Jack said the mission president thought it would funny. 🤣 The ward members thought they were playing jokes on Sunday and both had on Jack's missionary tags. Nope, that's his real name! Another fun fact, his middle name is Gordon, same as my maiden name. Ha ha! Jesus loves you! Godspeed Elders Campbell!

He also said Elders Campbell are the G.O.A.T. Miss you Jacky!

Coffee Cart and Mikayla is 14

When a service client asked Merril if he could make a coffee cart for a ridiculous amount of money, Merril said yes. Do we serve coffee, not we do not. Merril roped in Maxine. She even ditched class to work the coffee cart at Black Desert Resort. Maxine has always wanted to be a barista.

Merril kept up with the supplies needed to run the cart. I'm surprised how much milk goes into coffee. It was just for a few days but that was a fun little adventure.

It is also Mikayla's birthday! She's 14! Brekky with Dad at Rooster Run.

No Particular Order

Here we go with a random assortment of photos. I was doing an overhead press in the basement and my dumb bell hit the fan light and broke it. That's the second time I'm going to have to replace that globe.

Mark was kind of sick and helped me research a place to go sand sledding.

Lastly, Contact Climbing Gym had a music night. Maxine played her guitar and sang with friends. They sounded good.
