Halloween 2021

Mark was a dirt bike guy!

Mikayla was a half angel/half devil! One of her friends was an angel and the other was a devil.

Jack was a dirt bike guy!

Juliet was Doug from State Farm.

Maxine was a Hufflepuff class member.

Also pulled out Yelena from the Black Widow movie.

Merril had to sing on October 30th with Black sabbatical and rocked some KISS makeup.

Shawn Nelson hosted a Halloween party and we were invited. We dressed up as bad Janet and Michael from the Good Place tv show.

We trick or treated on Saturday, October 30th, because actual Halloween was on a Sunday. One more thing checked off my list!

Maxine and Jack Camping

Maxine wanted to camp before her mission and talked Jack into going. They drove out by Virgin and stayed the night. Maxine's car got a little muddy.

They tried to take pictures of the stars.

The next morning, they decided to hike up a mountain. It was next to their campsite. Fun adventures together!

Mark's 8th Birthday

Mark turned 8 and wanted to ride dirt bikes! We invited the Phillip family and the Nielsens. We rode around in the Rhino and dirt bikes and opened gifts and goofed off. It was exactly what he wanted to do so that's what he got on his birthday!

Mikayla being Mikayla. 😅

The next day, Sunday, was Mark's actual birthday. We blew out candles.

Monday morning, before school, Mark and Daddy got brekky. I can't believe my youngest is 8 years old. These last few years have been pretty fantastic! The kids are so fun and easy as they get older!

And this event marks the start of so many! We have Maxine's birthday, Mark's baptism, Jack's birthday, Maxine's endowment, Maxine's farewell, and Thanksgiving at our house. Most of them involve feeding people so I have to plan food. I'm going to be so busyyyyyy! Deep breaths, here we go!

Jack's Wicked Pedal Bite

Ooooowwwwww! Jack called me and said he'd wrecked his bike down at the church and needed me to come and get him. I drove down and he was limping and bleeding. We got him home and started to clean him up. Yikes!

They were some deep scratches. I wasn't quite sure how they would do stitches because they weren't slices, chunks of skin were just missing. So I decided to let it heal on it's own, with lots of big bandages and Neosporin. Yowsa!

Wednesday Morning Hike!

I wanted to go for a hike this week and Maxine asked if we could go when she had the day off. Wednesday was the day and Owens Loop was the trail. It had rained the day before and we decided on a trail that would be mostly sandstone. Owens Loop takes off just opposite from the DIXIE rock in St. George. The loop follows a ridge overlooking the St. George valley and was the perfect temperature! Merril found a plaque during the hike that directed us to an overlook for the sandstone quarry for the St. George Temple, Tabernacle, Woodward building, courthouse. That was neat! There's a hike that that takes off from Diagonal St. that leads to the quarry itself. Now I want to take the whole family!

Afterwards, we went to a vegan restaurant for breakfast burritos. It was pretty good! Great morning with some of my favorite people!
