Lake Days

Maxine and Juliet went to the Barbie Movie and then we went to the lake.

We've barely been to the lake this year. We used to go all the time, but not as much since we've sold the boat. They've increased the price of the park pass too. But enough about that. We still enjoy being at the lake. It's hard to get everyone together because we've gotten busier as we've gotten older. It was something that Maxine wanted to do this summer.

After we got there, everyone had the best time! I don't know why we waited so long. Of course, while we were there, Merril saw someone who needed a tow out and was able to get them out with his truck. Lovely summer days. We should go more.

Also, we brought 4 kayaks and paddle boards but the children insisted on playing king of the mountain with one paddle board. It was half full of water by the time they were done. These are the best days!

Mt. Rainier Vacation Race

These crazys didn't just work at the race, they ran the 5K. Maxine had been standing all day and changed into her Chacos for the race. She admits it might've been a poor choice.

Oh well, they finfished!

Mt. Rainier is looking excellent again this year!

They drove up to Seattle to see the fun things.

Pike Place Market is a favorite! Look! They bought me flowers and brought them home!

Up the space needle!

They've been finding hot springs on their way home from their adventures this summer.

I think this is the first time I've see pictures of a hot spring.

Sadie Gilberg's Reception

This is the friend I like to be. I like to help out and make it happen. Sara Gilberg's daughter, Sadie, was getting married and needed a dance floor picked up while they were at the temple.

It was fun to help out with flowers and cleaning with Sara.

I'm not going to lie, it was hot! 🔥 But that's the way it was and we made the best of it!

Juliet, Mark, and Mikayla came to the reception and Jack came late to help clean up. I can't believe our kids are getting to the age that they can get married! It's fantastic but scary for me as well.

Summer Randomness

Mark loves French bread! Now that Juliet has a license, she'll go on random errands. Mark tagged along to Walmart and bought his own loaf of French bread. Nomnomnom.

We cleaned the garage for 5 minutes and Mikayla was messing around on the rock climbing wall.

So I'm wishing for new couches, but I'm not ready to fork over the cash. The upstairs couches are dirty on the top but I can't take off the top cushions. I started to puzzle if couches could be pressure washed. It's really hot outside so I figured if I washed them, they'd dry very quickly. I cut off the bottom mesh and vacuumed out the popcorn and legos. Then the boys hauled the couches out to the back porch. I pressure washed the couches for about an hour. I was trying to be careful so as not to blow a hole through the fabric.

They dried in an afternoon and are so clean!

I don't feel like it's something that I should do very often. I worry about warping the wood frame. It worked out so well! I still want to get new couches maybe next year but now they are clean enough that they don't bother me.

4th of July 2023

Juliet had to work in the morning of the 4th of July. That's how life goes when you have to work. She seems pretty happy about it.

Look! It's Sister Maughn! Okay, Mckayla. So hard for me.

They went to river rock! That place is so yummy!

Merril bought this crazy tall bike to ride in the 4th of July parade. He said it was the sketchiest thing he's ever done on 2 wheels. 🤯 It's hard to dismount and kids were riding everywhere.

We paddled out to island to watch the fireworks again.

It was a mad dash to get out there. We barely made it.

After the fireworks, Jack and Talon swam back from the island. They were silly and yelling and the ranger came to see if everything was okay. We told them to knock it off. It took forever to get home. Sand hollow is fun and all but it's a huge bottleneck to get out. Whatever, it was a good time. Happy 'Murica Day!

Campbell Cabin 2023

Hooligans on bikes were sure to be had.

The light was just right for a perfect pic.

We went on a little hike.

We went to church in Pine Valley. We normally fight for a seat upstairs but we tried the outdoor chairs in the shade of this tree. It was great! There were a couple ants but not bad.

Swimming at Veyo. This was supposed to be the "last chance" at the cabin but they've been saying that for so many years that it's lost all meaning. lol. The kids still like it so much.
