Dig a hole...fill it up...
So today, I dug a hole. It took about 2 hours. Reason? I want a fruit tree. I had always planned to plant fruit trees in my back yard. Well, our back yard isn't getting any closer to being completed. If I had planted a fruit tree when we moved in, I'd have a fruit-bearing tree by now! So I decided I didn't want to wait anymore. Unfortunately, our house sits on gravely-rock-sand. (Mostly rock.) If I ever want this tree to have a chance, I was going to have to dig a hole and fill it with good soil. I think this is a great start. The hole is about 2 1/2 feet deep and 2 1/2 feet wide. (I'm kind of kneeling in there, not standing.) I got some sun and some exercise too. I'll let Merril dig later.

Wow. I would have given up after 3inches. Good luck with your entertainment center. I just took apart an old table, sawed it up, screwed it together again, and turned it into a bench for the table. It hasn't collapsed under the weight of 3 little boys yet.
How do you do it with the potty training thing? You have hung in there so long! Today has been a little better, but Syd pooped in her panties at least once a day last week. If it wasn't for the fact that I am too cheap to buy more diapers I would give up! Oh, and I am sooo excited to work in my yard! I think after tomorrows snow storm it will warm up enough to start!
I'm glad you said you were knealing, because at first I was thinking if THAT'S what it takes to plant a fruit tree...I'm OUT! I am mightily impressed by your digging skills, though. I can't wait to garden...
