I like to get them out the week after Thanksgiving! We're headed out of town to spend Thanksgiving with my family at my sister's house (Jo Anna). I just finished making pie crusts for the pumpkin and triple berry pies I'll be bringing. Nothing makes me feel more like a housewife than making pie.
Not that I ever wear heels when I bake pies but I just have this 1950s image stuck in my head while I bake. Sorry to the feminists, I never was one.

Jamie, I love that you just unashamedly said you never were a feminist (though I think you actually are). I love the picture too. I so want to get you a Donna Reed dress and heels to bake in for Christmas. I really want to, but I can't afford it, so just know that is my imaginary if-I-could-buy-whatever-I-want present to you. And I love your pie.
I finally perfected my apple pie. But then I tasted an apple pie from Costco and said, "I'm never making an apple pie again. This is delightful."
But I'm glad that you haven't traded in your culinary morals for the easy way out.
I really want to put on heels and bake pie RIGHT NOW! I love it.
