Hey, we went to the river today! It was close to the house and reminded me why I love the river! I remember ditching school and floating down the canal.
Maxine swam against the current a lot and basically stayed in the same place the whole time.
Juliet didn't get in the water a ton because it was hard for her to get on the sand bar. Maxine had to piggyback her to the sand bar, which she did repeatedly.
I wore the wrong outfit but didn't think I'd be in the water that much. I was wrong. My jeans were wet up to mid-thigh. Juliet wanted me to get her to the sandbar but I stopped, worried I'd get my phone wet. Maxine took over for me.
Mikayla spent most of the time under this FABULOUS tree, asleep in a chair covered with towels.
Jack drove cars in the sand and splashed in the mud. He drank Kool-Aid and acquired one of those red mustaches that takes a week to disappear.

the river is a favorite for us, too. The picture of Mikayla asleep on the chair is just adorable. I love chunky baby thighs. They are perfect!
wonderful summer. I'm trying to stick to a schedule, but a very flexible one so that we can enjoy frequent outings that will sound cool when the kids have to report what they did this summer.
