We decided to have a pet again. Merril and I aren't that keen on pets (because they're messy and generally a pain), but fish we're okay. We bought a 10-gallon tank from Walmart and went to Petco to buy some fish. We ended up getting different varieties of tetra and came home and set up the tank. We all like to watch the fishies, the girls ended up making some popcorn to watch the fish.
We have a pink tetra named Sakana, two black striped tetras named Oscar and Tiger, and two white tetras called Angel and Johnny O. Bagel.
The guy at Petco would not sell me goldfish, saying that one goldfish needs a 15-gallon tank and they get really big and can live for 20 years. We had to buy a heater for the tetra, which I was a little irked about, but I think the tetra will be better in the long run. When they eat they kind of dart like piranhas. I hope we don't kill them! The Petco guy didn't seem very confident in my pet parenting skills.
